WHAT'S HAPPENING?...  

  • Children's Bible Quizzing   Since this is a General Assembly year there will be a world quiz in Orlando in June 2009!
  • Ladies Visitation Those who would like to visit the shut-ins are invited to meet at the church at noon on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month.  Questions?  See Shirley Staggs or call the church office.
  • Scrapbooking Everyone is welcome! We meet the last Tuesday of the month @ 6:00 p.m. in the room behind the platform.
  • Nursing Home Ministry Every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at Heartland of Riverview in South Point, OH. Contact person is Terri Hudak.
  • Blood Pressure / Blood Sugar Clinic every 2nd Sunday of the month before Sunday School and after morning and evening worship services in the Sunday School office by the church office.

COMING UP...

  • SUPER LUNCH - The Children's Quiz Team and their families will host a fundraiser lunch on Sunday, February 1 after the morning service in the Ball Family Life Center.  There is no charge but donations will be gladly accepted. They will be serving Soup, Salad, Sandwiches, and Sweets. During lunch they will be taking orders for homemade Valentine candy...for a loved one or yourself! This fundraiser will help send our team to the World Quiz in Orlando in June.
  • GRANDPARENTS DAY is Sunday, February 22.  All grandparents present will receive a goody bag.  Children will be working on an essay and/or picture describing "My grandparent is special because..." during Sunday School class on February 8 and 15 in preparation for Grandparents Day. These will be displayed down the hallway walls for all to enjoy. ALL GRANDPARENTS ARE WELCOME!
  • FIRST PLACE Weight management with Bible study. We are preparing to start a new week night class. If you are interested or want more information you may contact the church office.  Sign up at the cabana. Don't delay. A class is contingent on the amount of interest.    
  • The next CHILDREN'S QUIZ will be @ Hurricane on February 28. There will be a District Quiz @ Belle on March 14.
  • PRIMETIME 55+ will be having a Valentine Dinner on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. in the Ball Family Life Center.  Mark your calendar and invite a friend to come along!
  • FEBRUARY IS ALABASTER MONTH -  Start filling your Alabaster box for this semi-annual offering to build mission churches, missionary housing, schools, hospitals, and clinics. Boxes are available in the church foyer. We will receive your offering on Sunday, February 22, 2009.
  • Sign up at the cabana for the 2009 LADIES SPRING RETREAT at Mount Vernon Nazarene University on March 20-21. You can find more information about the retreat at the cabana or ask Shirley Staggs.
  • SAVE THIS DATE: Sunday, March 22 Three Bridges will be here in concert at 10:35 a.m.

     

    THINGS TO KNOW...

    • BAD WEATHER POLICY:  Wednesdays: If Cabell County Schools close or have early dismissal all church activities will be cancelled as well. A message will be posted on the church phone message system. Call 304.525.6839. Sundays: Please call the church office. We will also post a message concerning services on the phone message system.
    • Nursery is available for each service
    • We are handicap accessible and offer aid for the hearing impaired during our services.  Please see an usher for details.
    • If you would like to be added to the church mailing list to receive monthly newsletters, please call or email the church.
    • About Parking: Just a reminder that we have parking on the west side of the FLC and permission to park at the office of Dr. Moses, Universal Credit Union, and Beard Mortuary (when there's no funeral). As a courtesy to others please respect the Handicap and Visitor parking spaces on Sunday mornings and Sunday and Wednesday nights.
